An evening of bras!!

Crazy Hats is renowned for working with both Northampton and Kettering General Hospitals to fund projects that will, directly, benefit patients.  Almost £1m has already been donated to both KGH and NGH (in oncology, breast screening, breast surgery/clinics, lymphoedema, therapies …). This year, working closely with a bra company specialising in mastectomy bras (Amoena), we will be providing all patients who have had surgery for breast cancer, with a bra, suitable for immediate post surgery, just before they go home. We feel this is a very worthy project. In addition, we will be keeping a wide selection of bras at the hospital (NGH to begin with) for patients who are looking to have breast reconstruction so that they can try on different types to ensure good support and comfort before purchasing. Furthermore, a variety of mastectomy bras will be kept at the Crazy Hats office for ladies to try post surgery. Our therapists will be trained to measure patients correctly.  Here, 'Mel' the Rep. from Amoena, talks and demonstrates to Crazy Hats members, and followers, about how bras should be fitted and the range they produce.  Mel and her colleague, Clare, also measured over 60 ladies who patiently queued at our special Bra Fitting Evening held at Wicksteed Park in their refurbished Terrace Suite. The evening was very-well attended and is sure to be repeated. We anticipate this new project will cost approx. £5k per annum. It is hoped that we will be able to support KGH in a similar way.  Thanks are extended to our sponsor partner 'Avon',  who generously and thoughtfully donated tubes of hand cream that have been included with each bra as a gift inside a very pretty pink organza bag.
