We always say that raising funds is important but, being the kind of charity we are, we feel that “people” are far more important. We organise many events throughout the year; we go to many events and we are fortunate to raise substantial amounts of money through the generosity and support of the general public when sales of our charity goods are made and donations are given. With monies raised we work closely with our hospitals to support all aspects of breast cancer care to enhance services and to ensure high standards of care are maintained and improved. To date over £1.5 million has been spent on hospital projects. We pay attention to detail by providing the extras to make patients experiences more comfortable (e.g. the two cafes we have funded at KGH and NGH). But, and more importantly, we do meet a lot of people and every single person we do meet has his/her story to tell; no two stories are ever the same and every individual matters to us. There is a saying: “It is good to talk.” Yes, it is and we are here to listen.

Crazy Hats is a “people’s charity”; it is your charity and always welcome your ideas to keep the charity alive. We also welcome your feedback so that we can improve our services and take the charity forward.

Why not call in at the office on a Thursday morning (10.00a.m. – 1.00p.m.) when we hold our Coffee & Chat sessions? Meet other people who have ‘been there’ or are going through their breast cancer journeys? If you are a patient or a carer why not book in with Elaine (our resident therapist) for some ‘me time’?
