Hello, my name is Elaine Henson and I am the Crazy Hats Complementary Therapist, and a Trustee of the charity.

My position, and that of Karen Smith (Therapist and member), is to pamper and support ladies who are going through their breast cancer journey, from diagnosis, through their treatments and afterwards when their treatments have stopped.

I have tried to create a mini-haven to enable ladies to feel special when they arrive for their treatment and feel pampered on leaving. The therapy room is in an adjacent building opposite the Crazy Hats office, where complementary and beauty therapies take place. The therapies offered are: Reflexology, Indian Head Massage, Reiki, Facials, Manicures and
Pedicures. As a result of receiving these treatments, it gives the ladies the “feel good” factor and helps restore some of their confidence, self esteem and well-being.

Appointments can be booked in advance or on the day at the weekly Coffee & Chat mornings held on a Thursday from 10 am to 1 pm. This service is also open to their carers and, of course, any gentlemen who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.

A Breathing and Relaxation class is also held fortnightly, which gives ladies the opportunity to totally relax and take quality time out. It gives me great satisfaction to be given the opportunity of helping the charity and so many ladies. I do hope I will have the chance of meeting you soon.
